Dryvebox Denver is yet another display of how our franchisees are changing the game! While it extends throughout the Mile High City’s rocky landscapes, this state-of-the-art mobile golf simulator ups the ante and excitement all around Colorado. Much of that is thanks to Ty Schoener, a dedicated golf enthusiast who’s making the game accessible for everyone in the Centennial State.
Because of its great mobility, it can travel throughout the state – but when it’s not traveling, you can find it propped up and ready for action at Breckenridge Brewery in Littleton or at Willis Case Golf Course in Denver.
Before Ty Took a Dryve
Hailing from Columbus, Ohio, Ty is a proud graduate of The Ohio State University, whose passion for sports led him to competitive soccer – then led him to Denver in 2018. Golf always held a special place in his heart, thanks to the affordable and accessible courses in his home state.
"The older I get, the more I realize how fortunate I was to grow up in Ohio," Ty reflects. "It's a true golf state, making the sport approachable for everyone. Golf has become a lifelong passion, and I owe that to my Ohio roots."
Life After OSU
After college, Ty embarked on a journey across the US, Mexico, and Germany, launching new Amazon facilities worldwide. Later, he joined the Denver-based startup Boom Supersonic, contributing to the development of the next generation of commercial supersonic aircraft.
Throughout his corporate career, Ty's entrepreneurial spirit thrived. He explored various side ventures, from real estate to converting classic trucks into mobile beer taps and even dabbling in parking lot maintenance. His diverse experiences eventually led him to explore the world of portable golf simulators.
Dryving Around Denver
In early 2024, Ty decided to go all-in on his entrepreneurial dreams. After connecting with the Dryvebox team in San Francisco, he was inspired by their vision and launched Dryvebox Denver in June 2024.
Ty was sold on Dryvebox, and what the company had already built, and launched Dryvebox Denver in June of 2024. He spent the better part of the past year working to get the trailer in front of the masses, talking to people about the opportunity for mobile golf simulators at trade shows, festivals, breweries, corporate events, non-profit events, or private parties, all of which Dryvebox Denver has taken part in.
Ty has brought the Dryvebox to birthday parties with as few as 15 people, and more recently, was at Top Taco Festival in Denver, which had a crowd of over 6,000. He’s gotten the box in front of well-known Colorado venues, such as Breckenridge Brewery, Denver Beer Company, Denver Sports Radio, Mcgregor Square, Broncos Training camp, and local golf courses.
What’s In Store?
"I always knew Ohio had a fantastic golf community," Ty says. "But Colorado's golf scene is equally impressive, if not more so. The weather here is perfect for year-round golfing."
Ty's passion for golf and his entrepreneurial drive have made Dryvebox Denver a success. He's met everyone from first-time golfers to seasoned pros, and he's even managed to improve his own game along the way.
Ty has big plans for Dryvebox Denver. He's looking to introduce a self-operating mode, allowing golfers to rent the golf simulator hourly at convenient locations. Like most Boxes around the country, he also offers an indoor setup for trade shows and business conferences.
In just a few months, over 1,000 people experienced the thrill of golf with Dryvebox Denver. Thanks to Ty's dedication and innovative spirit, the future is only elevating!
